Every year, Toronto’s Contact Photography Festival takes place for the entire month of May. The vision for 2021’s festival was the reconnect the photographer with the medium by creating a visual identity that illustrates the process, philosophy, and whimsy of photography.
Inspired by the duality of photography (the relationship between positive and negative, landscape and portrait, and light and dark) the fluid logo can fit any aspect ratio.
The mark’s flexibility represents the festival’s openness to a diverse range of photographic style, but also speaks to an audience who is interested in the details of the photographic process.
