CHINGOOZ Apparel
Business, Fashion, Art Direction, Photography, VideoThe Chicken Came First
In high school, I was known as “chicken shirt girl”. The chicken is a hand-carved linoleum stamp that is still used to this day. CHINGOOZ, meaning “friends” in Korean, is the reason why the CHINGOOZ Apparel brand was created. Through their encouragement, the brand today serves not only as a business endeavor but also a platform for me to experiment with art direction, fashion, and collaboration.

CHINGOOZ has since expanded into other designs and endeavors, including serving other communities around the world. Our last two campaigns have been in support for the nonprofit Liberty in North Korea and recently an International School in Guatemala who is suffering financially from the pandemic.

CHINGOOZ has collaborated with various creatives based in my hometown of Fairfax, Virginia but also Brooklyn and Los Angeles. By positioning the brand across multiple areas, it allows the brand to speak to an audience that is diverse and approachable.
